Analysis of Business Process Diagrams

The aim of Analysis of Business Process Diagrams is to create procedure that is able to find typical patterns in business process diagrams. Besides, it is necessary to design and implement application, which will be able to find and mark selected workflow patterns. This analysis is based on XML document, in which a business process diagram is stored. Important thing is to keep the ability to extend the number of patterns, which can be find out in a diagram. Also, it is important to solve some special situations, i.e. overlapping of patterns.

Business process modeling tools

Paper summarizes the importance of process management and process modeling for the organization. The primary goal of this paper is to give an overview of available software tools for modeling business processes. The work contains a list of these tools and an overview of the most important criteria for their mutual comparison. The criteria are divided into 4 areas. Field "Applications" examines the construction of the tool and options for working with the tool. Field "Models" gives an overview of the supported models, methodologies and notations. Field "Modeling the organization and its surroundings" determines the possibility of instruments in these spheres and field "Processes" deals with the capture processes and other activities related processes. All the tools are then described according to these criteria.
